New video explains what a credit union is

In our new video, Chief Executive Martin Groombridge explains what a credit union is and how London Capital Credit Union can help you with your finances. Why not take a look and find out more…

In the short video, which was posted on Facebook and Twitter, Martin Groombridge explains that London Capital Credit Union is an ethical savings and loans co-operative run by and for ordinary people from our local communty.

In a credit union, members savings are pooled to create a source of affordable credit at times of need. Profits made by the credit union are returned to members not external investors, so money is kept within local communities. Members normally receive a dividend on savings and a rebate on interest paid on credit union loans.

London Capital Credit Union offers easy ways to save, including a PrizeSaver scheme with a free prize draw and a top prize of £5,000 each month. We also offer a range of affordable financial products making a credit union a great alternative to mainstream banks.

Working in partnership with local councils, the Credit Union promotes savings, offering low cost loans, helping members deal with debt and offering education and money management.

Membership is free and open to anyone living, working or studying in much of Greater London. Find out more about the Credit Union on our website or call us on 020 7561 1786. Alternatively, you can download the London Capital Credit Union app for mobile devices.
