London Capital Credit Union held another successful annual member’s meeting on 20th March 2025, hosted at the Unison Centre in London. Unison, is the largest trade union in the UK with members working in all areas of public services, and has worked closely with the Credit Union to help tens of thousands of members save more and avoid problem debt.
Unison General Secretary, Chrisine McAnnea, welcomed 128 members to the meeting and praised the role of the credit union in supporting members with their finances at a time when inflation had led to real financial difficulties for so many.
Martin Groombridge, Credit Union CEO, expressed his support for the work of Unison in supporting members, particularly in its role in obtaining increasing number of Salary Savings Schemes that greatly increase the number of working people being able to save for a rainy day. He said: We are keen to continue in partnership with Unison to ensure that those who deliver our essential public services have financial stability and do not end up in the trap of debt and poverty.”
